As some of you may now know, my wife had our baby here in Costa Rica. The process was very smooth and my wife was comfortable through the entire process. Currently, we go to monthly check-ups here in Playas del Coco. Our pregnancy check-ups covered everything from listening to the heartbeat to looking at the baby on the ultrasound. Now, our baby is healthy and enjoying life every day. I tell you this back story simply to ease any thoughts of "maybe health care is sub-par in Costa Rica".

When it comes to biodiversity, Costa Rica is one of the richest countries in the world. It is the home of a diverse number of ecosystems. It occupies a relatively small land territory and happens to be located in between two of the world's biggest oceans. Costa Rica is renowned as a leading destination for scuba divers. Its Pacific coast appeals to world-class divers mainly due to the bountiful sea life that is home to its crystal clear waters.

So Many Things to See and Do in Costa Rica

There are so many things to do in Costa Rica it is impossible to list them all here.  Costa Rica offers Mountains, Volcanoes, Rain Forests and Beaches all within a few hours drive from each other. Many retired people live near the beach in Guanacaste, but take weekly or monthly excursions to the different natural sites that Costa Rica offers. From hot springs and massages, to horse riding and zip lining? Costa Rica offers as much (or as little) adventure as you care to have.

The Pacifico Master Planned Community is a 175-acre master-planned community built to U.S. standards and is the vision of The Jack Parker Corporation, a privately owned, U.S.-based real estate development company founded in 1955 with real estate holdings that include Le Parker Meridien hotel in Manhattan and The Parker Palm Springs hotel in Palm Springs, CA.

The quick answer to this question is YES!  However, I want to breakdown this question a little bit to understand what life is actually about.  It seems that I was conditioned in America to work all week, get a paycheck on friday, pay the bills, and go back to work on Monday.  By the end of this routine I found that I didn't have much extra money.  Not to mention that I was always stressed out as well.

There really isn't one single best time to be in Costa Rica, all of the seasons in Guanacaste offer something special. Different seasons, and thus different weather, offer many different positive experiences from non-stop sunshine to tropical green rolling mountains. I would say that it really depends on what kind of lifestyle you're looking for. That will help determine if you would prefer to live here part-time, or on a more full-time basis.

For the uninitiated, Costa Rica can mean many things: Ecotourism, happy people, sunny beaches, great Scuba Diving, Wildlife viewing, adventure-seeking, and the ever-present "Pura Vida". We created the "A Day in the Life - Costa Rica" video to show you our little slice of Costa Rica through the eyes of people who live here and have done what you have only dreamed of doing until now.
